Finance

The Finance department is the primary activity under the supervision of the Finance Manager. The department primarily handles; investments, processes for vendor payments and customer receipts, financial statement reporting, audit management and reporting, and the development and publication of the annual budget. Our fiscal year begins on January 1 and ends on December 31.                                                             

Responsibilities

• To maintain the official financial records of Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District (District) and to provide reporting as necessary for accountability                                                                                       
• To provide seamless fiscal support and financial management with integrity for all other departments and activities functioning within the District    
• To be the point of contact for the Board of Directors and the stakeholders, public and other governmental agencies on financial matters

Objectives

• Complete the development of the Strategic Plan as it relates to Finance. This process would include the establishment of a long-term financial plan and the management of budget performance.
• Publish the annual Budget and to continue to apply and receive the Award for Distinguished Budget Presentation by the Government Financial Officers Association.
• Maintain Fiscal responsibility, transparency, and adherence to accounting standards
